Here are 47 of the best places to visit in Europe during the summer. I know 47 sounds ridiculous and I’m not suggesting you can visit all of them but pick what appeals to you and go for it.

Visiting Europe this summer or any summer can be overwhelming however due to the sheer volume of tourists flooding popular European destinations, leading to long lines, crowded attractions, and inflated prices. Major cities and well-known landmarks often become bustling hubs, making it challenging to fully enjoy the experience or find a moment of tranquility. This is why I will always recommend traveling in Spring or in the Autumn months – even winter can be chilly but way less stressful.

Additionally, the heat can be intense in many regions, adding to the discomfort of navigating busy streets and outdoor activities. This high season also demands advanced planning and reservations to secure accommodations and activities, further contributing to the stress of travel.

In Europe the months of July and August are the height of summer travel. Personal experience has shown me that to visit Europe in summer can be incredibly hot in the major cities and a beach vacation is much more appealing.

In Dublin you can see the statue of Molly Malone, take a walk and have a pint at Guinness Storehouse or Temple Bar. In Belfast you can tour the Titanic Museum as its only 2 hours from Dublin.
