I have specialized in writing about food and culture for many years. A stint as an Examiner Food writer taught me a great deal about content writing and ensuring that the writing was accessible, well researched and interesting. I have a great deal of experience in the development of food businesses from specialty bakeries with a focus on gluten free products, diabetic and celiac food product development, as well as product development in breads, tortillas, wraps, dips, spreads, grain sides and salads, salad toppings.
I have worked with some of Canada’s best supermarkets such as Sobeys, Loblaws, and A&P, alongside specialty shops such as; Pusateris, Angelos, Remark Farms, and Covent Garden Market, developing marketing programs and new product testing. Working as a mentor with the Small Business Centre and Community Futures I have acted in an advisory capacity to several new food businesses and incubators including: specialty craft brewing, ancient grains & beans, soy product development, kosher products, indigenous products and more.
